HAPPY LONG WEEKEND LADIES!!!
My Grandmother was not a great cook but she was a fantastic volunteer! I found this recipe in one of her cookbooks put together by her Massachusetts Eye and Ear volunteer committee. What’s more gourmet than homemade crackers?? These melt in your mouth and are a great appetizer or perfect served with soup or salad.
HERE’S THE VIDEO:
YOU WILL NEED:
1 cup flour
1 stick of butter at room temperature
1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
¼ cup shredded parmesan cheese
1 tbsp. fresh chopped chives
1 packet of Lipton onion soup mix
½ tsp paprika
pepper to taste
With mixer, mix the flour and butter together. Then add the other ingredients. Form into a log. The crackers do not grow in size when baked so make the log the width that you want your crackers to be. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill in fridge for at least 1 hour. The dough can be made 2 days ahead.
Slice log and bake on cookie sheet with a Silpat or parchment paper underneath. Bake for about 10 minutes until golden.
Cool before serving. (Can be served warm).
