While browsing the web for entertainment, I come across some gems once in a while that I just have to share. Here are 3:
http://margaretandhelen.com/ – This blog about 2 old ladies who are best friends since college is pure brilliance! They have opinions…STRONG opinions and they aren’t afraid to share them, no sir! They are my new heroes – I too want to be a ballsy old lady who takes no crap and speaks her mind. I will not be the little quiet lady who knits and smiles and says “That’s nice” a lot. I want to be like my great grandmother who was so sick of insignificant drivel at parties that she is rumored to have said to people “I have decided to no longer engage in small talk.” Good for you Great Grandma! If you don’t have something truly interesting to say, what’s the point? I wonder if this will be my friend Tina and me? We are strong women who don’t mince words and speak our minds and we’ve been friends since the 5th grade! Plus, I’m sure we could drive those Rascals WAAAAY better than Margaret or Helen!
Georgia Getz is an acclaimed essayist, novelist, screenwriter, and director. No wait – that’s Nora Ephron. But Georgia Getz dreamed of one day becoming these things and more – just as soon as she finished college. At the age of thirty-five.
That’s funny and self-deprecating and I too have an obsession with Nora Ephron. Like a “Singe White Female” stalking obsession. Don’t worry Nora – I don’t know where you live and I don’t have the energy to try and find out for fear of major rejection – I’m not stupid. Georgia (aka Bossy) is really funny. And I love her videos, especially the ones where she gets no love from the big websites like Dooce. I hear ya Bossy!
http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/ – I love this site! The graphics, the sometimes emotional and whimsical and then other times silly and sarcastic. I really appreciate her ability to bare her true feelings in such an easy, honest way. AND, she has a picture of a unicorn in her profile. Who doesn’t love unicorns??!!
HAPPY BROWSING LADIES!
