How about I shop for you today? I have some fun stuff and a recipe that I think you will enjoy!

I LOVE walking around Jordan Pond!

Jordan Pond Strawberry Jam – As a kid, the most glorious place on earth was Jordan Pond, a restaurant set high on a hill with breath-taking views of Bubble Pond. And you know what? It still is the most glorious place on earth! When we go, we indulge in their famous popovers with gobs of butter and strawberry jam. Yummmmmmm. They also make a delicious lobster stew. After, we take a walk around the pond which is almost 3 miles. Hey – we just burned off our lunch!! When I get back home, I crave the popovers and jam, so I make them. Here is the recipe. It is soooo easy!

NOTE: You can use a muffin pan but a real popover pan is best. And you need to eat them fresh, right away. They get stale quickly.

POPOVERS – recipe courtesy of my mum!

Spray popover tins with Pam.

Mix:

2 cups flour

2 cups whole milk – don’t use light milk

4 eggs

salt to taste

Just mix gently with wooden spoon. Fill cups to ¾ of the way.

Bake at 450 for 20 minutes then decrease temperature to 350 and bake 25 minutes more.

SERVE with butter and jam!!

Laguiole Steak Knives – these knives are so elegant, so beautiful, I swear I am reminded of Versailles when I see them! I want to go put on a ball gown. We received them for our wedding, I put them on our Bloomingdale’s registry the minute I saw them. I like the ivory but they come in other colors too. You can find them lots of places online. Of course fresh garlic is the best, but this seasoning is darn close

Garlic please!! I have told you how much I love garlic. I am not shy about it. I am completely addicted, in love, with garlic. I found this topping while at the garlic capital, Gilroy, California. The entire town smells like garlic. Their Garlic Cheese Sprinkle seasoning is so darn good. I sprinkle it over bread with butter and pop it in the oven – voila, instant garlic bread. I sprinkle it on cooked peas or any other vegetable. I sprinkle it on chicken. I would probably sprinkle it on my husband if he would let me!

I am obsessed with Lilly Pulitzer!!! My mother wore it, my dad wore it, I had the wrap-around skirts when I was little. And I wish we had kept everything!! I picked up some Lilly dresses on the website and I just had to have these gold shoes!! They are spectacular. They can be worn both day and night. And of COURSE, they have pink insoles!!!

Copper cups – I don’t know about you, but I am really, really picky when it comes to the cup I drink out of. I have no idea why, I just am. So when I saw these cups in a catalog, I just had to have them. The copper is durable and pretty and goes with anything. And, it is naturally anti-bacterial and so is the stainless steel inside, so they are just the best cup ever for kids, especially since they cannot be broken. I guess they could if you went over one with your car, but let’s not try that. And, they keep drinks cold which is genius if you are like me and need water by your bed at night. The only drawback is they cannot go in the dishwasher but I say that’s a small price to pay for the perfect cup.

Kitchen mat – I wanted something in the kitchen to give it a little pizzazz and also something comfy to stand on. I was going to get the Gel Pro mats that are advertised in all the cooking magazines but they are expensive and kind of modern for me. I found this one in a catalog and flipped for it. I love everything French and this is whimsical and cool and is squishy so it provides some relief while you are standing over the sink peeling something or cleaning something.
